Daryaganj - Legacy of 1947

Image
Daryaganj - By the Inventors of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani Daryaganj is not just another restaurant in the lanes of Connaught Place. Let's take you back to where it all started. Kundan Lal Jaggi started it in 1947 in Daryaganj after the partition. The spices he used, made his dal makhani and butter chicken a legacy on its own. He hosted many politicians and renowned people of his times. A wall dedicated to this. This restaurant is a tribute to his legacy and an attempt to preserve the authenticity of the taste of that era. That's a brief overview, I guess you can check the long story on their website.  We'll just start with our own dining experience now. So, the ambience gives you a pretty bright and soothing kind of a feeling the minute you enter the place. I personally loved the open bricked wall look on one end and mirror on the opposite end. They have very comfortable seating to sit back and go down the 1947 lane. The old songs playing in the background just takes ...

My Kind of Bar, CP

Image
My Kind Of Bar  This is the new bar in town and its just how i like it. Dim lights, pretty decor and hip music. Sometimes you just want to sit and dine with your buddies and forget about other stuff. This place gives you just the vibes. They serve a variety of North Indian and Italian food and the drinks section, it is loaded with liquor and cocktail options. But you are gonna miss some shakes and mocktail variety. Let's get down to the eating and drinking section. Chocolate Shake - Thick and amazing. Fruit Punch - Sweetness overloaded is the word for it. Classic Greek Salad - When you have to get some healthy veggies before eating junk and hence a sad face. Chilli Chicken Momos - Average with variety of sauces. Vada Pav with Elaichi Chai - Perfect combo! Spicy Chicken Lollipop - Absolutely delicious and crisp. Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani - Finally a yummy plate of biryani after a long ti...

Junkyard Cafe, CP

Image
Junkyard, Or is it? CP is the heart of Delhi. Hence it's surrounded with a great variety of places to sit and dine or just dance. One such place is this - The Junkyard Cafe. They have another outlet in Saket ( Check my Blog ). Although I liked the interiors of Saket outlet much better but still this is worth a visit. The unique thing about this place is that all the material used for decorating the place is prepared out of junk.       The tires, machinery, big oil cans and the most amazing attraction is the airplane with junkyard written all over it. The ambience is so appealing that it took me a while to choose a spot and sit there. On one side we have a big bar setup and in the middle there is a big projector screen with music playing in the background. The seating space is very comfortable for everyone. Enough talking, now lets get to the food section.     Drinks   Citrus Mart - If you need a refresher dri...

Pebble Street

Image
PEBBLE STREET      A hip place with a cool vibe. Dim lighting with cozy setting. Bright lighting with comfortable seating. Pretty posters on the wall. A yellow scooter on display. Pleasant music in the background. They know how to catch your attention. Staff is welcoming and the service is pretty good. Coming down to the main deal.   DRINKS SECTION Pineapple Sunshine - Wasn't shining for me. Tasted like normal Pineapple juice to me.   Tropical Green Mocktail - Was expecting more of lemon in it. Had too much syrup in it. Tasted very very sweet. Can be worked upon.   Lavender Lemonade - This was also very sweet. Got it changed and then it was better. The lemon taste was good.   FOOD SECTION Chicken wings - I loved it! Crispy yummy pieces of chicken!   Cheese n Mushroom Garlic bread - The bread was a little soft. Was expecting crispness. The cheesy mushroom taste worke...
