Kasol - Trek with Shooting Stars and Snow!

Image
A place where Maal has two different meanings . Snow Capped Mountains What is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone talks about Kasol?  Mountains? Israeli Food? Hot Spring? Snow? Trek? Or Maal?  If your answer is Maal, then you’ll be a little disappointed, but you can still read the blog for the other things mentioned. ;) This place was on my bucket list for two reasons: The Kheerganga Trek and the Israeli Food. The much awaited trip took place in the long weekend (13 th April’17- 17 th April’17). We booked a Volvo bus and left Delhi by 8 pm from RK ashram marg.   And that’s when the overnight journey to Kasol started. We reached Bhuntar by 1pm (SO NOT following the Itinerary), changed from the volvo bus to the normal bus for kasol. Now, the ride from Bhuntar to Kasol was FUN. Why? Because of the Nepali and Himachali songs played in the bus. And FINALLY we reached Kasol by 2.30 pm. Checked into HHH Hotel, got freshened up and left for some lunc

Firefox in the Hills!

“Life’s not about arriving at a destination. Life’s about the journey and all the beautiful scenery along the way.”   Firefox Baby! Do you like cycling? (ME with both hands up) Do you like cycling so much that you want to cycle in the hills with greenery all around you, which makes you forget about your destination?   If yes, then this post is just for you! If not, then still read it and get the feel of cycling in the hills.      On the first day, we did Paragliding and some exploring nearby our hotel. After the thrilling first day at Bir Billing, it was time to do justice with the second day too. So, after waking up late we researched about the nearby options to explore which can be covered within 5-6 hours. After some R&D, we decided to go to Sherabling Monastery. It was at a distance of 8 km from the Landing Site. We had two options, either to go via cab or rent a firefox and go on our own. For an Enthusiast like me, option 1 was boring. So we picked the

Para-Para-Paradise!

“ Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all ” - Helen Keller I took the quote a little seriously while planning my next trip. But then, you’ve got only one life, so why not do some daring things and share those stories while sipping tea on a sunny afternoon 30 years from now. After all, it takes only a spark of motivation to pack your bags and just Travel. Although, the spontaneity works most of the time, yet sometimes I plan the itinerary of my trips (Old habits). Finally, after a lot of planning, everything was set and the bus left from Delhi to our next Destination, Bir- 'The best paragliding site in the Country'. The level of excitement was so immense that I booked a slot for Paragliding within 30 minutes of my arrival. I didn’t have breakfast, one reason was the excitement and the second because it’s advisable not to eat anything just before doing any adventurous sports (You know why!). So our slot was ready and we were driven to Billing (T

FOOD IN A LUGGAGE

LUGGAGE ROOM As a Food & Travel Blogger, luggage and food are the two things that are always there with me. While searching for a place, the name of this outlet caught my attention – The Luggage Room. It is set up on the first floor, in the outer circle of Connaught Place. Just outside there is a big Red board displaying their name. When you enter the place you notice dim lights displaying a huge area with sofa seating on one side and chairs on the other.  The idea while designing the interiors was to connect it with the name of the outlet. The wall has keys displayed in a box (Keys to open the luggage. Smart!), the bar table is set up on suitcases and the best part is bringing food in small leather boxes. I really liked the concept. Your food is hot while you’re not eating and it looks so cool. And to take it up a notch, they have hip music playing in the background while you enjoy the food.   Interiors!   DRINKS We started with some Mock tails and Smo
