Connaught Clubhouse, Janpath
Surprise and Shock Combo
It is the new hot cake in town beautifully placed in the lanes of Janpath. This is a huge property with amazingly decorated lights, well spaced tables and very comfortable sofas and chairs. What made it really pleasant was the background music which can make you groove while you wait for your food. I was really impressed with the vibe after entering this place. Next in line was the food to be ordered.
We started off with
Tandoori wild mushrooms - Mushrooms were properly cooked and it tasted fine.
Chicken Tikka - Layered up with onions and sauce it was on the spicy side which made it worth eating.
Patta chaat - It could have been much better if the patta was thicker in size. The taste wasn't good at all and the green chilli made it worse.
Cottage cheese quesadilla - I'm not a big fan of quesadilla. We ordered it for my friend. The taste was very bland. More flavor was expected.
Spicy mix veg dimsums - I was actually shocked to see the size of these. It looked like mini dimsums. The spices were missing from the spicy mix veg dimsums.
Chilli Paneer - This was something. Paneer cooked on a chilli and covered with shahi paneer gravy. No chilliness at all. Very disappointed.
Mix sauce Pasta - This saved our meal. The pasta was rather good in taste.
Moving on to the Desserts -
Gulab Jamun - Well, not much can go wrong in this. So this sailed off.
Tiramisu - This was one good dessert. Not much bitterness in the aftertaste.
Overall -
A pretty place with disappointing food. Make your order cautiously.
