The Good Old Desi Vibes

If you're searching for a place to have a meal with your family, then your search has ended. This place offers you the good old Desi vibes, the minute you set foot into it. Although, you may expect a waiting time of at least 20 minutes but the food and the ambience makes up for the extra time.

AMBIENCE

Dim lit, wooden furniture and mud walls with cycles, cute puppets hung on it. Reminds you of something?

Mud Walls!

Puppets!
Think. Think.

A village Ambience. Full marks for the setup. It feels like you have travelled back in time to a village to have some Desi food. I was already in love with the place.

FOOD

We were greeted with a Welcome drink in a Kulhad. Man, it was refreshing. And they kept on refilling the drink which was surprising.

Starters -

Dahi ke Kebab - One of the famous starters. Not everyone cooks it well. The Kebabs were very soft but a little too sweet. Tasted above average.

Dahi ke Kebab!

Desi Vibes ka Khas Tandoori Chaap - It was not so khas. Soft but lacked the spices. Tasted just fine. Not recommended!

Not so khas Chaap!

Bharawan Khumb - Mushrooms stuffed with cheese and grilled in the tandoor. This was better than the above starters.

Mushrooms!

Paneer Galaouti - Another kebab in the menu. This time prepared with cottage cheese. It was suppose to be the softest kebabs, but turned out to be harder than even the Dahi ke Kebab. It was a little hard to swallow. Not recommended!

Not so Soft!
Main Course -

The plates were set and then came a big bucket filled with a variety of pickles. 7 to be exact. Right from Mango to Lemon, they had it all. Totally in love with the pickles!

Pickles!

DV ki Khas Dal Makhani - The classic thick Dal Makhani gravy layered with cream and butter. It was a delight indeed!

Chaap Do Pyaaza - Soyabean chaap prepared in onion and tomato gravy. Garnished with coriander and ginger. This dish was worth trying. The rich taste makes you feel good.

Main Course!
Dessert -

Gulab Jamun - The classic gulab jamun to end your heavy meal.

Gulab Jamun!

Moong Dal Halwa - My favorite Dessert amongst all! This one was so well prepared that I had another bowl of it. After that it was time to move my hands on my stomach (with a big smile on my face).

Also, after we were done with our meal then they put a cute container in front of us. It had Desi Pan and sauf (mouth freshener). And that was the end of a heavy meal.

Mouth Freshener!

SERVICE

The service was so prompt that at one instance we were not even done with the dish and they wanted to take the plate away (Just Kidding). The staff was very cordial and they made sure that we had a good time and come back again.

OVERALL

This is the place to try for a family Lunch/ Dinner. No further questions!

  1. It honestly sounds like an amazing place to dine at. So unusual too. And boy, your pictures do tell a good story. Thanks
